Stupid Simple SEO ($297)

Stupid Simple SEO course

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the most important topics that bloggers, e-commerce businesses, content creators, or any business owners that run a website need to learn. Without traffic, an online business cannot survive for long. Still, SEO is daunting because it seems so technical and complicated. In reality, SEO is quite straightforward if you have the right teacher to guide you through it.

Stupid Simple SEO is an online course that teaches bloggers how to grow their traffic and income by mastering the fundamentals of SEO. It is taught by a serial blogger called Mike Pearson, who is a pro at SEO and teaching. While the strategies are geared towards blogs, they can also be applied to other types of websites.

This video-based course breaks SEO down into easy-to-understand principles, making it simple. It’s by far the best SEO course I’ve taken, and the only SEO course I recommend. You can read my Stupid Simple SEO review for a more in-depth look at the course.

Pitch It Perfect ($699)

Brand collaborations – paid social media campaigns and sponsored posts – are a lucrative income stream for content creators. However, most content creators – primarily bloggers, Vloggers, and Youtubers – simply don’t know how to pitch brands or even where to start.

Pitch It Perfect is an online course that teaches online entrepreneurs how to pitch and negotiate brand deals, even with a small following. The course is taught by Julie Solomon, a PR and branding expert, New York Times-Best Selling author, and host of the Influencer Podcast. She worked as a publicist for years before starting her own PR company.

With less than 12,000 followers, Julie negotiated $250,000 worth of paid brand deals in one year. In Pitch It Perfect, she teaches the mindset, principles, and strategies to successfully pitch brands on a consistent basis. After taking this course, I landed $10,000 in brand collaborations in less than a year. You can also read my Pitch It Perfect review to learn about the pros and cons of the course.

Graphic Design Tools

Canva Pro ($119.40 for a one-year subscription)

Canva homepage

Canva is a drag-and-drop design tool that allows anyone, even those without any design experience, to create professional-quality graphics. From business cards to banners, Canva has thousands of templates to create promotional content for your business.

Canva Pro is one of the two premium plans available in Canva, the other being Canva Enterprise. It is geared towards solopreneurs and small businesses that want more customization to manage their brands and increase productivity. It comes with more features, such as 400,000 free photos, 60,000 free templates, and a brand kit to save your logos, colors, and fonts. Take a look at this overview of what you can expect inside

PicMonkey ($120 for a one-year subscription)

PicMonkey logo

PicMonkey is another drag-and-drop design tool for online business owners and creatives. I also use PicMonkey mainly to design Pinterest pins for my blog posts. I’ve been using PicMonkey for about two years.

Overall, I would say that Canva is more user-friendly than PicMonkey. PicMonkey uses layers in its interface, just like Photoshop. It also comes with a number of advanced features that are best suited for those with more design experience.

That said, PicMonkey has more tools for photo editing, another feature that makes it more comparable to Photoshop. It also gives you more control over your designs. For instance, you can tweak the exact angle of the shadows on your text or remove blemishes from a face.

As a rule of thumb, go with Canva if your blogger friend is a design novice and go with PicMonkey if they have some design experience. A one-year subscription for both tools is the same price.

Deposit Photos (starting at $299 for a one-year subscription)

Deposit Photos homepage

Professional photos are essential for any serious entrepreneur. That’s why investing in stock photos is a smart move. Deposit Photos is a stock photo service that gives you access to millions (yes, millions) of royalty-free photos. I pay $299 per year for the basic plan and get 30 downloads per month. If I don’t use all the downloads, they roll over to the next month.

Entrepreneurs use stock photos for everything from blog posts to landing pages to Pinterest images. The photo at the top of this page is a download from Deposit Photos. Once you download a photo, you can use it over and over again for as long as you want.

Nikon D3400 ($499)

The Nikon D3400 is the perfect DSLR for those who are new to photography. The best thing about this camera, other than the professional-quality photos, is that it’s so simple to use. You can start with the auto mode that automatically adjusts the settings for you. As you learn more about shutter speed and aperture, you can start using the manual mode like the pros.

The Nikon D3400 is also small and lightweight, making it easy to fit in your carry-on bag. It comes with two lenses – a long and a short one. That way, you can capture images from different distances.

The Tripod Genie ($99)

The Tripod Genie landscape and portrait configurations

Entrepreneurs create so much content on their phones these days. That’s why a phone tripod is a useful tool. It allows people to take photos and record videos hands-free. This is a must for bloggers on a budget, who don’t want to shell out money for a cameraman.

The Tripod Genie is a sleek phone tripod that beats most of the other ones on the market. It’s not like those funny-looking tripods with spidery legs. The Tripod Genie is slick and sturdy. It’s ideal for live streaming to Instagram and Facebook, recording Youtube videos, hosting webinars, vlogging, capturing photos.

Photo editing

Adobe Photoshop ($239.88 for a one-year subscription)

Adobe Photoshop images

Adobe Photoshop has been the leading photo editing tool for decades now. This versatile tool has a learning curve, but it undoubtedly produces amazing photos and graphics. Bloggers constantly need to edit photos and create professional graphics so Photoshop is a no-brainer as a gift.

Adobe Lightroom (starting at $119.88 for a one-year subscription)

Adobe Lightroon images

While Photoshop gets the most attention, you shouldn’t overlook Adobe Lightroom! While Lightroom doesn’t have the same range of editing features as photoshop, it is just the right tool to create beautiful photos for Instagram. In addition, Lightroom is easier to use than Photoshop so you don’t have to be a pro photographer to use it.
